You support human rights

On LGBT issues, the Romney/Ryan record is reprehensible.1  As far as LGBT (i.e., human) rights, you should know that the only interest these guys have is in restricting or eliminating them. Paul Ryan voted against the following pieces of legislation:

Romney’s just as bad – he has stated he thinks workplace protections for LGBT people are an “unfair burden on employers," and does not support relationship recognition.  And of course, they’re both for a Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.2

While many on the right continue to believe that homosexuality is a sin and that gay marriage is somehow a threat to heterosexuals, there are plenty of good people with a more charitable view toward their fellow human beings, and being a Christian does not exclude one from supporting gay rights.3,4  There is even room to support the idea that the Bible itself does not condemn gay marriage.5 Additionally, there are more than 1000 federal laws—not including state, county, or other jurisdictions—affected by maritial status.6 How can a person who claims to support the Constitution and the premise that everyone deserves equal treatment under the law, support Republican candidates who clearly discriminate against the LGBT community?

It is inconsistent that the Republican Party says it is for small government, but also sponsors legislation that restricts personal liberties. The seems like hypocrisy.
