You believe in gun rights.
You’ve bought into the baseless NRA propaganda that Obama is after your guns, which is laughable, considering that the Brady Campaign gave him a grade of F,1 and that he has repealed more gun control laws than the Bush administration did in 8 years. An article in the Chicago Tribune points out, “Obama has signed a law that permits Amtrak passengers to carry guns in their checked baggage and another that allows visitors to national parks and wildlife refuges to possess concealed guns.”2
But you still think Romney is your guy? As Governor of Massachusetts, Romney backed two gun-control measures that were strongly opposed by the National Rifle Association: the Brady Law, which imposed a five-day waiting period on gun sales, and a ban on certain assault weapons, saying, “I think they will help.”
And he steeply increased fees on gun owners by 400%.3 While running for Governor, he said “I don’t line up with NRA”, but now, of course, he likes to say he’s a lifetime member of the NRA. He didn’t buy that “lifetime membership” until 2006, but whatever.
